Three books that I love:
I Wish That I had Duck Feet
A favorite from Dr. Suess! Although he wrote many books, this one features a slew of various identities that a little boy tries on. I Wish That I Had Duck Feet is a wonderful little book that is both funny and gives a message: Mothers are to be obeyed, and being a human is great stuff.
The book also shows the side of children that they love, such as not wanting to wash the car, or being able to climb trees faster. There are many things that are an asset to this story, not the least its whimsicality.
How Fletcher was Hatched!
Authored by Wende Devlin and Harry Devlin, this story features a remarkable occurance in life: a dog hatching! How Fletcher was Hatched is a heartwarming story about the love between a dog and a girl. Children will love the oddity of it, the beautiful pictures, and the way everything works out in the end.
A Fly Went By
A predictable reading book by Mike McClintock, this book features a repetitive cycle of reading. This is a book children can learn by heart, therefore it is excellent for sight words. Parents and teachers can also do some wonderful sounds when reading this aloud, as there are many animals. Teachers can make a story basket for their class using this predictable reading book. This was one of my favorites as a child.
Today's blessing: Having a restful Wednesday, instead of a crammed one. It is good to have a break once in a while.
