Today was the first day of work at Starbucks for the summer. During my time there, I was asked by one of my coworkers what I thought about tattoos. Here is what I think:

Tattoos are not evil or a sin. They are a matter of personal preference. Many things in the Bible are not specifically addressed, such as music or cigarettes, but there are certain principles that go with them. I believe that one of the principles that accompanies tattooing is that the tattoo itself must be biblical, or glorifying God. I think that Christians shouldn't have evil symbols on their bodies, or meaningless inking. But what is meaningful to one person may be silly to another. Therefore, Christians shouldn't judge others based on what tattoos they have. I cannot say that one person is more spiritual because they don't have ink on their arm, or that one person is not a "good Christian" because they do. I cannot judge based on appearance, because that tattoo is a matter of personal preference and is based on internal motives and thoughts, the which only God knows about.

So here is my personal preference on tattoos:
Most of them are ugly. They also give the appearance of an unprofessional. That is why I won't get one. Oh, and I am deathly afraid of needles. I would most likely faint. A Christian is, in my personal preference, allowed in the liberty of Christ to have tattoos. And I will not, in any condition, judge someone or treat someone differently because they want a tattoo or have one. I can't find a place in the Bible that tells Christians to not get tattoos. That is why I hold this position.

Todays blessing: French Canadians. They made me chuckle today with their issues with our money. An exchange:
Me- It will be $3.63
Lady- For cappachino?
Me- Well, yes.
Lady (to father)- ok. $3.63?
Father- ummmmm.... (starts fumbling with change)
Holds out his hand and puts some change in mine. Then the Lady says:
Lady- One more little one. (dime)
Father puts a nickel in my hand.
Father- NO! a little little one.
Then he gives me the correct change.
Me- Thank you! Have a wonderful day!

Oh how I love working with foreigners. A dime is a "little little one". Thank you God, for making so many different people and cultures. Life would be boring without them.
