Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
We have just begun going through Proverbs in my church on Sunday nights, and it is looking to be a profitable work! Here is one verse that has stuck with me, and hopefully will continue to be meditated on throughout the week.
No person can even begin to have the knowledge that is worked out through wisdom if they do not fear the LORD. This fear is a respect, and it is also obedience to His Word. Through following God's commandments in the Bible, a person can begin to gain knowledge. Once that person is working out the Bible in their life, they are gaining wisdom. If they are not doing these things, they are a fool. This is a life long process of gaining wisdom, and it is a daily choice.
Challenge:
To not only read God's Word every day, but to apply it to that day's life and to gain wisdom from the application.
